Summary

  • No analytics cookies are set unless you click Accept on the cookie banner.
  • The site keeps four small items in your browser's storage to work properly. They aren't cookies, they stay on your device, and they don't track you.
  • The Calendly scheduler and YouTube videos set their own cookies, but only once you open the scheduler or press play.
  • You can change your choice at any time with the button below or “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

What cookies and browser storage are

Cookies are small text files a website saves in your browser, which are sent back to it on later visits. Local storage and session storage are similar places in your browser where a website can keep small pieces of information; they stay on your device and are not sent with each request. Session storage is cleared when you close the tab.

UK and EU rules (the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations in the UK, and the ePrivacy rules in the EU) mean we must ask before storing anything in your browser that isn't strictly needed for something you asked for. That is why analytics waits for your consent.

Your choice, and how to change it

The first time you visit, a small banner asks whether we may use analytics cookies. If you click Accept, the analytics tools marked “in use” below load. If you click Decline, none of them load. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as Decline and don't ask. The banner only appears when at least one analytics tool is switched on.

To change your mind, use the Change cookie settings button above or Cookie settings at the bottom of any page; the banner opens again. If you withdraw consent, the page reloads without the analytics tools. Cookies they already set stay in your browser until they expire, but are no longer used; you can delete them in your browser settings.

Storage the site needs

These items are set by Wanile, on this website. They do only what you asked for, so they don't need consent. None of them is a cookie, and none is sent to us.

NameTypeWhat it's forHow long it lasts
wnl-consentLocal storageRemembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we don't ask on every page.Until you change your choice or clear your browser's storage
wnl-contact-draftLocal storageKeeps the note you are writing on the Contact page, and the details you typed, so you don't lose them if you leave the page. It stays on your device.Until you send the note, or clear your browser's storage
wnl-navSession storageTells the next page to finish the page-transition animation.Removed when the next page opens, or when you close the tab
wnl-story-introSession storageRemembers that the homepage intro has played, so it doesn't play again during your visit.Until you close the tab

Analytics cookies (only if you accept)

These tools help us see which pages are useful, where people get stuck and which links bring visitors to us. Each one shows whether it is switched on for this website. What they collect, and who runs them, is in our privacy policy.

Wanile visit recordIn use, with your consent

Set by Wanile, on this website. It remembers how you found the site, so that if you later send us a note or book a call, we can see which channel brought you: the page you first landed on, the latest page you arrived on from another site, the name of the site that linked to it, any campaign tags in the link (such as utm_source or an ad click ID), and how many visits and pages you've had. It stays in your browser and reaches us only with a note or a booking. Declining or withdrawing consent deletes it.

Calendly, YouTube and LinkedIn

Calendly

The “Book a free call” tab on the Contact page shows a scheduler from Calendly. It loads only when you open that tab. Calendly then sets its own cookies and loads services it relies on, for example Cloudflare's __cf_bm bot check (30 minutes), Google reCAPTCHA to stop spam bookings, and its own analytics. Calendly decides how these work; see Calendly's privacy notice. If you'd rather not, send us a note or email abdullah@wanile.ai instead, and we'll find a time with you.

YouTube

Client videos play from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode. Nothing loads from YouTube until you press play. Once a video plays, YouTube may store identifiers in your browser (cookies or local storage) to run the player, remember your settings and count views, under Google's policies.

LinkedIn and other links

The floating “Message the founder” button opens our founder's LinkedIn profile. LinkedIn, Clutch, our clients' websites and other sites we link to set their own cookies when you visit them, under their own policies, not this one.

Controlling cookies in your browser

Every browser lets you see, block and delete cookies and site storage, usually under Settings, then Privacy. A private or incognito window keeps nothing after you close it. If you block or clear this site's storage, the site still works, but your note draft won't be kept and the cookie banner will ask again.

Changes to this policy

We update this page when we add or remove a tool. The date at the top shows when it last changed. The names and lifetimes of third-party cookies are set by those providers and can change between our reviews.
